I filled this map with all the countries I read about in books so far this year. If I'd tried to base this map on authors it would have been a bit dull (but I'm working on it, I'm working on it).
Create your own visited country map.
Where have I really travelled so far in my life? Well there's been:
Africa (Kenya)
Italy (Rome twice, Florence, Verona and Venice)
France (Nice twice because it's one of my mum's favourite places, Paris when I was little and Bourdeaux)
Spain (Madrid and Barcelona)
Gran Canaria
Greece (although I don't really count this one as it was a week of British clubbing in Malia)
Prague
Belgium
Ireland (Dublin twice)
The Seychelles
Canada (Toronto, Ontario and a couple of other places)
Jersey
All around the British Isles
Where do I still want to go? Oh, just a few places...
India
Iceland
Milan
Jamaica
Bracelona (again)
Tanzania
Brazil (maybe, I don't know if I'm brave enough though)
Australia and New Zealand
Athens
The Azures
Where have you been and where do you still want to go in the world?

I love the idea of making a fictional travel map for 2009. I started to create a map for myself but then realised that I've read far too many books set in fictional countries or in Space this year for it to be entirely successful! Back to the drawing board...
If only there was a way to include 'space' on these maps...
This is such a great WG meme. I thought for sure my reading had been a bit more all over the place but when I looked at my list of books read I'd only be able to color in 10 countries. Bleh.
Have you read any of the Arnaldur Indridasson books... Crime fiction set in Iceland? Those are very good.
If I'd based this on author instead of the location the story was set in my map would have sucked.
I haven't read any of those books but I keep hearing such good things about Icelandic crime. Sadly I don't think their big sensation, detective Wallander is going to be my cup of tea so I mgiht just have a look into those books (I just did an author search and I see Hralan Coben rates him).
